New Patient Info

Homeopathic remedies can be sensitive and easily spoiled if they are exposed to electro-magnetic fields for any length of time. The best way to keep them active is to store them in a closed tin. This protects against most unwanted rays. Only take them out when you need them, and take care to place the tin a couple of meters away from mobile phones, TVs, computers etc., when you are going to open it. If you don’t have a suitable tin, or if you need to carry a bottle of tablets on your person, you can wrap them in aluminium foil as an alternative.

If you have remedies that I have prescribed take care to follow the dosing instructions. Don’t take more than directed. Even if you feel they have helped, wait for further instruction before taking more.

Handle remedies as little as possible. Tip a tablet into the bottle cap, or out of the packet onto your palm, rather than poking fingers into containers.

Remedies should be taken in a “clean mouth”. This means nil by mouth for at least 10 minutes before taking the remedy, and also for at least 10 minutes after taking the remedy. The simplest thing is to select a half hour where you don’t plan to eat, drink, smoke, clean your teeth etc., and take your remedy ten to fifteen minutes into the thirty minute period.

Tablets should be sucked or allowed to dissolve in the mouth. If it is the hard type of tablet that takes a while to dissolve, it is fine to chew it after the first minute. If your remedy is liquid, hold it in the mouth for a good few seconds before swallowing.

Avoid substances with strong tastes immediately after having taken a remedy. This includes extra strong mints some toothpastes and coffee, as these can knock out the effects of the remedy.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is hard to answer because it is very individual and it depends on your type of health problem, plus a number of factors including, how long you have had it, whether you have had a lot of potentially suppressive medication for it, and your own innate healing energy – your vital force. If you have any concerns about your response to treatment do contact me. Otherwise please just make a note of anything you observe, any differences to your condition, anything new, anything that has resolved or improved etc., and bring this information to your next appointment. Sometimes symptoms can worsen temporarily before they get better. Don’t worry if this happens, as it is usually just a sign that you are responding well to the remedies and your body is doing what it needs to sort itself out. If this carries on for more than a day or two though do contact me.

Homeopathic remedies can act quite deeply. Give your body the best opportunity to benefit from treatment: keep an eye on your hydration level, try to choose healthy foods, keep alcohol to a minimum, allow yourself enough time for sleep, and get some gentle exercise to keep everything flowing.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please give 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations on the day will incur a 50% cancellation fee unless there are extenuating circumstances.
